Nzoner's Game Room>2024 MLB Playoffs Thread (non-Royals)
SHOWTIME 05:38 PM 09-29-2024

Who's winning it this year?

This is a thread for non-Royal playoff games since I assume there will be a separate one for the Royals…

The series went differently though

Bibee and skubal both got a little touched up in their second start of the series. Meanwhile Cleveland had success leaning on their bullpen except for one game when a cy young closer shockingly got rocked.

Cleveland has an excellent bullpen and they decided to lean on them. Not the worst strategy in a playoff series where the same team gets lots and lots of looks at the same starters.

Changing their name to Guardian is lame as hell. That atmosphere they had with the drum and Manny, Thome, Lofton running around is simply gone.

Is Lane Thomas going to be the next obscure ex Cardinal to postseason legend?

Should’ve been the Cleveland Rocks.

Missed opportunity for a “so bad it’s good” sports name.

It’s not a bad strategy on a macro level (which is why these FOs tell their manager to do it). Game context should matter on a micro level though in these playoff games and the fact that it doesn’t so often these days couldn’t be any more silly to me.

I don’t know why they let manaea dig that much of a hole in the 6th

You know it's the postseason when Muncy comes in hard on Iglesias at second to try to break up the double play.
