Okay, here is a place for the Golfers to talk about tournaments, clubs, swing help or thoughts.
Today is the Players Championship, which I think ought to be the 5th Major. Largest pot in the PGA. The daunting 17th, which seems to bring excitement every year. At least we will get to see Sergio blow up yet again.

I haven't played enough to know what my swing trouble is at this point but I did play my first '18' in almost a year. I played alright. I had hit a few buckets and then played a few '9s' alone just getting shit together and then I played '9' keeping score all leading up to my round. I played alright. It seems with this Cleveland driver I can hit a huge hook though. I guess if I struggle it's not with mechanics so much as with tempo. I just have to swing slow and I seem to hit it pretty well.

I had it made with an X-stiff shaft but you may be right. [Reply]

Yeah, you really have to implement one thing at a time to work on otherwise, yeah becomes a jumbled mess.
My swing coach all thru high school and college was a GM guy so he was a lot more versed in it that I, but I really like the two plane philosophy a lot more. Bent right wrist flat left wrist etc as well, but I tried to read the book myself am yeah, it's gets a bit crazy.
A lot of the bigger guys implement some of the stuff that I've seen, but they aren't full on homer Kelly guys. [Reply]
The R&A and United States Golf Association have confirmed that the ban on anchored strokes will come into effect from January 1, 2016.
Golf's governing bodies proposed the ban last November and Rule 14-1b has now been given final approval after consideration of comments and suggestions made during the 90-day consultation process.

Absolutely.
Minute movement of the hands is an essential part of the putting stroke. Taking the hands out of the stroke is, to me, like someone using an anti-slice tee.
The only mistake the governing bodies made is not acting on it sooner. They made the same mistake with square grooves twice and the COR on the driver. [Reply]

I'm so flipping frustrated right now with my golf game it isn't even funny. I can't seem to hit a drive that doesn't fade, but of course when I line up to the left to play the fade it goes straight as a string. It has to be something simple, it's just got me bamboozled right now..../rant [Reply]

When you hit the ball, where on the face are you making contact? Toe or heel?
Also, what directions do your divots point? To the left or right of the target, or straight on? [Reply]
I'm feeling decent about my game now. Still haven't broke 90, or even had a real good 9 hole stretch. But when I hit my driver well, its going at least 250 and straight. Keeping my left wrist flat and getting consistency in my approach and set up to the ball have been an amazing confidence boost. I'm not hitting everything off the tee like that, but probably over 50% of my drives are hit like that. The rest of my game needs work, but off the tee box has always been my biggest flaw.
I upgraded my clubs too.
Mizuno JPX 825 5- pw
Cobra AMP hybrid 3 & 4
50 deg Adams wedge
58 deg Cleveland CG16
Still looking for a 54 deg wedge, haven't decided whether I like the Adams or the Cleveland
Cleveland Classic #7 putter
Still hitting my old Taylor Made 360 driver
I fear I don't like that putter. its a lot lighter than my old one, doesn't seem to make solid contact with the ball. not going to give up on it yet though. Posted via Mobile Device [Reply]
