Roland Emmerich makes Michael Bay looks like Andrei Tarkovsky.
There is the occasional twist with some how the hell was there resume like that before something good. With you on it’s not fucking likely with Emmerich. [Reply]

I'm pretty excited, too. Snatch and LS&2SB are two of my favorite movies. Haven't been terribly impressed with most of his more recent stuff. Hopefully this is a return to form. [Reply]
Equalizer 2 was on HBO. This time Denzel is a Lyft driver and he helps out people with sad sob stories, usually requires going to Europe, and the local black kid who is headed down the wrong path. The movie starts out with him on a train in Europe and takes out 3 bad guys in the lounge car. Later the lady at the bookstore has her kid back, he doesn't tell her how it happened. The Silent Hero. If you like seeing Denzel beat up multiple bad guys, sort of like Liam Neeson, then see this flick. I've got Liam in Cold Pursuit recorded, next up.

I thought it was highly enjoyable. The final showdown on the island during the storm was awesome as well. [Reply]

Yeah - that is true but I think you can find a screening that is better than the standard presentation. I listened to a podcast where I'm pretty the 3 reviewers each had a different presentation and the one that saw the standard 2d thought it looked horrible and the other 2 thought it looked good.

There are a lot of theaters across the country showing it in 60 HFR. Only 13 showing it in 120 HFR which is what Ang Lee shot it for.
My buddy saw the 60 HFR and said it looked fantastic. Much better than the Hobbit 60 HFR. [Reply]
