That’s the kind of thing I’ve noticed live. He’s determined pre snap where he wants to go at times and not reading the field enough on those plays.
After watching Smith do similar things and get excuses that no one was open, only to find out on game film someone is almost always open, I haven’t really bought that guys aren’t open for Mahomes either.
I know opposing fans say he always has wide open receivers but finding those guys, and creating it as well, as consistently as he does is part of his elite vision. And he’s sort of taken that away from himself by either bailing pockets too quick or simply not going through progressions enough. [Reply]
