Years ago, when the Yankees were nearing the end of their run from 95-03 where they went to a lot of World Series, I approached a coworker Yankee fan friend of mine to talk about baseball. He sincerely didn't know what the Yankees were doing as it was May. He said Yankees fans don't pay attention until the playoffs. He grew up in NYC and Long Island.
Years later a friend and I went to a Yankees Red Sox game at the old stadium. We sat in the center field bleachers, with the other people of average means. They had no idea what they were watching, just knew they hated the Red Sox. [Reply]
