Man, I believe I expressed here that we should explore a short term deal with Bellinger. Now he signs this prove it deal with the Cubs and I am irritated that it wasn't the royals. We needed a respectable left handed bat in the outfield. It changes the whole damn lineup dynamic. Talk about a move that could help put the team in a position to win the division. [Reply]

It's a 1 year deal assuming he doesn't crash and burn back to 21-22 Bellinger. He got a lesser version of the deal that Correa got from the Twins prior to his current contract. Bellinger is still playing for a long-term contract. So yes, it is a prove it deal with a short term premium on AAV. [Reply]
