I think Veach did the absolute best he could with FAU.
Majority of teams ahead of us were in direct competition with us for a Lombardi last year ie. Eagles, Bills, Bengals. Felt terrible for Veach after listening to the presser because it sounds like teams weren't picking up the phone when they saw him on the caller ID. And if they were, it was at an extreme unjustifiable premium.
We pretty much got dicked for being overly successful. Not to mention if you listened to Reid it sounds as if they really thought long and hard about overpaying to move up but in the end abstained.
Props to the FO for their discipline. I bet last night was real tough to swallow. [Reply]

What does Bakersfield have to do with it? I don't think that gives anyone special insight into an NFL draft board. [Reply]
Our front office is really dialing in and grabbing good football players at the top
Felix is an ass kicker and this feels like another Bolton, Humphrey player where you get him an not only do they have a high floor but the ceiling is high too. [Reply]

I have some insight on why porter Jr fell. He's athletic, but just not as good as the corners who went ahead of him. He's not his dad, and the media narrative putting him in the first round was based on name recognition and not his play. NFL teams are aware of it, but the media is clueless. [Reply]

He fell because he doesn't have ball skills, the NFL values the ever loving shit out of CBs that get picks. He doesn't have ball production and his testing numbers aren't stupid like Deonte Banks so he fell a bit. He also isn't good in zone so now you have..
Scheme specific, lack of ball production and non elite measurables so he drops. [Reply]

This is also what happens when you pick at the end of rounds...
Guys who are just good football players fall while guys with elite measurables get picked higher. [Reply]
