You realize that DEs will 'learn' pass rush moves and how to refine their techniques for essentially their entire careers, right? You can be a hand in the dirt DL and have done that job for a decade and STILL need to stay on top of your technique.
It isn't as simple as 'slap the right shoulder button when the QB snaps the ball then press O to turbo boost to the quarterback'.
Edge rushers will set up blockers. They'll chain moves that are oftentimes dependent on what the DL shows them on his first step or first punch. They'll intentionally tank one rep to get a blocker thinking one way, then do something completely different when need arises.
It's nothing near as simple as "hey, here's how you do a rip, push/pull and swim - NOW GO EAT!!!" to be a moderately effective edge rusher.
I mean yeah that was my point. People in here saying he doesn't have enough moves but everything I see from him appears to be a student of the game. [Reply]

I'm glad we got 3 solid backers as Rose is a Niemann clone. Niemann was an inch shorter and their pro day results were similar. He would be a great addition as a back up but hopefully never has to start, as was always my argument with Niemann. Great backup and Special Teams, but not a starter. [Reply]
