Offensively yes she's a work in progress but she has hit threes and midrange jumpers on and off all season and I'd expect that to improve as she gains more experience. The tools are there for her to improve offensively and if she does she could be Kawhi lite imo.
It's funny how when the Fever were losing everyone blamed her teammates. Now they are barely 500 "her teammates owe Clark everything"?? Mitchell has been balling since the start of the season so I don't agree that it's solely down to Clark.
Also I think that excuse regarding her turnovers is weak. Quality players don't give the ball away as prolifically as Clark does and it's a habit she had in college too. And what makes it worse is many of them lead to easy buckets for the opposition. When the playoffs start that's when such habits really come home to roost as they did when she lost back to back finals with Iowa.
If you wanna talk about qb's then Brett Favre might be a good Clark comparison tbh. But I digress.
Clark throws dimes to her teammates and they miss the pass, so turnover for Clark. Also, I've never in my life heard a group of people argue so hard that one basketball player is better than another and their main argument is that the player is superior because of rebounding.
Reese is fine, but she's not more valuable than most of the scrubs in that league. Clark will go down as the best women's basketball player of all time and Reese will be the girl that tries to bully her like some middle schooler. [Reply]

Clark will never be seen as the best if she continues to be a turnover machine and average on defense. Aja Wilson is by far the best player in the league imo. [Reply]

The only difference is Clark THIS year, and they are much much better.
You are one sad, bitter man.
Chicago was terrible too but people expect Reese to be Jordon. Fact is having a bad season doesn't mean you don't have top talent. Consistent top draft picks is now benefitting the Fever. [Reply]

Ok then let’s call angel Reese Clint capella and that’s being generous because capella is an accurate shooter. As any player who shoots almost all their shots within 5 ft should be. Capella is a good and valuable player but he is nowhere near Steve Nash which is who clark probably best compares to.
And her outside game has been far from good. Defenses are giving her wide open shots because they don’t respect it and she’s still iffy, although at least she’s trying to space the floor recently. She’s gotta do way more than be iffy hitting uncontested 3s with a slow as shit shot. Until she does these things she doesn’t open it up for her team like Caitlin does. Because she can’t create her own shot and she doesn’t space the floor.
Clarks turnovers need to be cleaned up. She makes too many unforced errors. But that’s just false that quality players don’t create turnovers. For decades a lot of the best offensive point guards are turnover leaders. But you can’t compare her to other wnba point guards who are more Alex smith. Favre is a fair comparison except that 1 bball turnover isn’t nearly as deadly as an interception. So if that turnover opens up the offense and allows for their frenetic pace the benefits by a mile outweigh the costs. [Reply]
Also critics of clark like to talk out of 2 sides of their mouth that angel has no help yet criticize clark for not winning a national championship with Iowa recruiting against sec super teams. Clark’s tendencies are not the same in the pros. If anything she’s been criticized for being too much of a team player and passing too much at times. She doesn’t have the obligation anymore to do way too much like she did in college. [Reply]
Good win for Indiana today. Clark with 28 points and 12 assists, Smith with 14 points and Mitchell a huge 36 points.
But the same issue reared it's ugly head again. Clark had another SEVEN turnovers which means she's had 26 In her last five games and she's absolutely smashing the wnba turnover records right now.
Indiana are over 500 for the first time this season though so congrats to them. [Reply]

The turnover bullshit is the weirdest flex when others are acting like rebounds are some kind of holy grail. I’ll put this in simplest terms. Nobody here wants Patrick mahomes to take a ton of checkdowns. Why in the living fuck would an offense who’s greatest strength is to sprint the floor want to Alex smith the ball into some boring half court offense where you boringly pass it into the post and hope she can create some kind of a score.
Go root for Alex smith if you want a bunch of safe passes that don’t actually help you win [Reply]

Half of her turnovers are passes off the hands of unsuspecting teammates who would have had a layup... [Reply]

So you'd accept Mahomes throwing four or five picks a game? Because that's the equivalent of what Clark is doing and that's why she lost back to back finals. It's fine putting up good offensive stats in the regular season but those turnovers become crucial when the bright lights shine in the playoffs and she needs to fix it because giving up the ball to the top teams will have you down big fast. and as I just said, many of those passes should have been caught and counted as an assist with an easy layup... [Reply]
