The #Chiefs are hiring Steve Spagnuolo as their new defensive coordinator, sources say. The former #Giants DC and interim HC/#Rams HC began his NFL coaching career as an #Eagles assistant under Andy Reid. Now rejoins Big Red in KC.
I haven't been this excited about our secondary since Hasty/Carter - and even going back to the big 4 - Lewis/Burrus/Cherry/Ross.
It's hard to say for sure but you have to assume there's a major coaching component to the ascendance of Ward and Fenton, and the secondary getting better and better every week. Also HB's leadership. [Reply]
Bad thing is, that he's going to have to pretty much do a minor rebuild again this off-season. Off the top of my head, our free agents list on defense is kinda long. I believe that Fuller, Claiborne, and Breeland are all FA in the corner group, Sorenson may have one year left, the other safeties are good for longer, linebackers, Ragland I believe is a FA. Seems like Wilson and/or Lee may be one year guys. But linebackers need fresh blood anyway. On the line, the obvious one is Jones. Will we be able to keep him or will he be tagged and traded? We know that he wants, and has earned, a big contract. Kpass is in his final year. I believe that Okafor and Ogbah were one year guys too. We obviously are going to lose several guys. [Reply]
I love at the end of the Bears game- Spags is running a corner blitz to try to close it out instead of sitting back in the prevent letting Tribs pile up junk yards on us.

We are going to be WELL PREPARED for the Ravens.
They made Tribisky pay for it every time he ran. I think after the 3rd hard tackle it really took the steam out of Tribs to keep running up the middle. They were tagging him pretty good. [Reply]

Not that Turdbiski is anywhere near the runner Lamar is, I hope we punish Lamar every time he tucks it. [Reply]

Facing the Bills with Allen would be a good practice game to get them ready for Lamarvelous. If the Bills were smart they’d have Allen run more. [Reply]
