But yeah, this wasn't like those incredibly bad recent boxing decisions.
The punch count they showed was like 36 to 16- not sure if that counted all the kicks to the head GSP landed.
Johnny got him the temple that stunned him for a second but to say GSP was hurt and should not get the round because of one lucky punch that finally got through. Johnny has more power for sure and should have done a lot more than dance around and act like he won. Fact is GSP rocked him on several occassions as well, he was just was better at smiling and pretending it didn't hurt.
Johnny should have closed the fight out and he didn't GSP won the last round hands down. He only has himslef to blame for a correct judges call. [Reply]

If the scoring system is based upon the 10 pt round scoring system, I'm not sure how to get around this unless you automatically score the round 10-8 whenever someone inflicts more damage.
10-8 is usually if someone gets a point deducted or is close to being knocked out but saved by the bell. Clearly that didn't happen in this fight. Johnny didn't look bad because GSP didn't get his elbow shots in that could have cut him.
Johhny was over confident and let up the 5th round-he only has himself to blame. If GSP was sooo hurt he wouldn't have dominated johnny in the 5th round with 2-0 on takedowns- 10-0 kicks to the face and twice the strikes landed. Maybe he should have spent less time trash talking and more time wathing film on GSP and how he outpoints his opponents and get victories.
GSP had a pretty close submission attempt as well to Johnnies 0 tries. [Reply]
So, back in UFC headquarters, Dana White was giving a presentation to some of his rank-and-file UFC employees and apparently gave them all a dry, detailed, and reasoned account of the company's plan for 2014.

This is the only part that makes sense to me. [Reply]

Cormier should have been in the mix, but if he won't fight Cain it's kind of pointless. Barnett is solid, but I have to watch Roy Nelson one more time on a PPV I might gauge my eyes out. Werdum is also interesting and I still think Overeem is a guy nobody wants to fight. It's not as horrible as you make it seem. [Reply]

Overeem has no chin and can't adjust to MMA gloves.
Cormier is at 205 now.
Barnett is old and can't be relied on as a future selling point.
Werdum is the only guy that is truly intriguing and is a threat to Cain. Everyone else (Nelson, Browne, Silva, Overeem, etc.) is in the same tier. [Reply]

Right, but he could very well be the best HW on the planet as well. I would have loved to have seen him and JDS go just to get a feel for how good he really is. [Reply]
