The tape is out there. Do not play soft zone on him.

Selling Allen stock this year.
The Titans put the tape out on Lamar last year in the playoffs. The question going into 2020 was whether he could beat the tape. He couldn’t. The Ravens are now hoping he can with additional weapons and help on D. We’ll see.

Allen will be going into 2021 with a similar test.

Give it to Lamar again. Go right on ahead. Hell they’ve been dying to give it to Derrick Henry for years. Go ahead and give Henry the MVP.

See what happens at the end of the season.

Allen sucks. I still refuse to believe he’s a top 5 QB
Disagree.

I know it's cool to say that individual awards don't matter. But I want Mahomes to rack up as many as possible for his legacy.

Also, despite the recent "evidence", winning MVP and winning the Super Bowl are not mutually exclusive. I don't think Patrick winning MVP has any effect on his ability to win the Super Bowl at all.

He can and will win both during multiple seasons throughout his career.

Of course he can but winning an MVP usually means the person with the most impressive stats. If you have no run game and a bad defense, you'll have better stats because you need to score more often. Having a great overall team is the better chance of a Superbowl win but it diminishes the likeliness of an MVP. They are of course not mutually exclusive(we were an offsides away from Mahomes probably getting a Superbowl his MVP year) but that also kind of proves the theory. A shit defense was the item that Mahomes didn't get a chance to overcome. He can get both, it's just harder to do.

You're right.

Of course he could've CRUISED to an MVP last season if Andy didn't shut down our offense at the half for over half our games.

The fact that Patrick didn't demand Andy let him pad his stats like a certain diva I'm Green Bay did a year ago says it all about what kind of player and teammate he is.

It will be a hard sell to say they are better.
And Mahomes is 0-2 against Brady when it counts. Is there any question who's the better QB right now?

Means nothing.

Brady is 0-2 against Eli Manning when it counts most

He needs to beat Manning's 5 MVPs. And apparently the cards are stacked against him where everybody is desperate to give the trophy to anybody but Mahomes.

Thus, I don't care about that shit.

The dude with the most career passing yards in NFL history has never won an MVP. That's how unvaluable the MVP award is.

Point me to the year where Drew Brees definitely should've been MVP.

2008 definitely.

Drew Brees 2008
5,069 yards 34TD's 17 Int's

That year the NFL MVP was P.Manning with
4,002 yards 27 TD's and 12 INT's

Not saying Peyton deserved it, but Brees certainly didn't either considering New Orleans went 8-8 that season.

QB's of .500 teams don't win MVPs.

He definitely deserved it over Peyton that year. It’s most valuable player, regardless of how shitty your team is. If a quarterback put up a 55td 5 int season with 5k yards on a 9-7 team or even an 8-8 team, he should be given MVP because without him that team is probably 0-16 which makes him the most valuable player!

Meaning, if the team goes 13-3 it makes no sense to give the award to a different qb because his team did better. It’s a player award, not a team award.

Just to add to that, that was also the first time since Dan Marino, that a quarterback had thrown for over 5000 yards... it was a pretty big feat back in 2008

Eh, the Colts had a terrible run game that year and still went 12-4. Peyton had 6 game-winning drives and four 4th quarter comebacks. They finished the season on a 9-0 run.

That sort of shit runs the MVP headlines.

Brees put up great volume stats and ended up with a shitty record. If you give Peyton the 80 more attempts Brees had on him, the overall numbers would appear a lot closer.
