Jumanji was never suppose to creep on Star wars who had a drop from Thursday to Friday which is almost unheard of.
This should be a nice warning to Disney they made BVS a Box office success that managed to make big money but piss off the hardcore base for the most part.
They keep it up and the cracks will start to show. [Reply]

So, yeah, it is the picture of failure haters want to paint it as. Now, if it starts to gain on TFA over the course of this next week, you may start to have a point, if the gain is substantial.
But, as of right now? It's a comparative disaster for Disney, because it's also underperforming globally at the moment (That may change a bit, as China's numbers won't kick in until January).
200m down from TFA when that was the 1st star wars movie in decades. This is now the 3rs star wars movie in 3 years. That is a rediculous comparison. [Reply]

Care to explain the rare drop from a Thursday to a Friday.
That should never happened to a Star Wars Movie. [Reply]
He's the captain of the millennium falcon it made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs
And even he gets boarded some times.
This demonstrates that the falcon is a fast ship and is known in some circles. Not that Han is known. You are making a leap. Luke doesn't know him and I'm sure, as a disgruntled farmer with his head in the stars, he was pretty dialed into "spacebook". [Reply]

I blame the holiday for the better performance a week later.
There should still be many Signs for Disney to worry about. [Reply]
Disney is saying 65.6 million, but Deadline and other industry experts are saying 69 million.
Really depends on today's business. New Year's Eve is an unpredictable holiday.
I find myself agreeing with both Dane and GoChiefs....I think Disney should be concerned, but I also think that TLJ will hit 1.4 to 1.6 billion worldwide when all is said and done.
TLJ still has to open in China and it is also guaranteed all of the PLF screens in the US for another week plus. I think it has too much money already in the bank to not make it to 1.5 billion.
Crazy to think that having the #1 movie of all of 2017, making that gross in just 16 days, and still being a disappointment.
I think Disney/Lucasfilm should be concerned, but not panicking just yet. [Reply]

It also features Luke Fucking Skywalker. That alone should make it most watched. [Reply]
