Chiefs are trading six-time Pro-Bowl WR Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins for five draft picks: a 2022 1st-round pick (No. 29), a 2nd-round pick (No. 50) and a 4th-round pick, as well as 4th- and 6th-round picks in the 2023 draft, sources tell ESPN.
Juju and Hardman both in contract years. Jameson Williams and George Pickens in the draft please! Use the rest of those picks to build up your defense.
Im reminded of the Vikings trading Diggs for a first rounder and turning that into Justin freaking Jefferson on a rookie contract. Meanwhile Diggs is aging on an expensive contract. The Vikings undoubtedly got the best of that trade.
Perspective people! We got FIVE freaking picks. FIVE! Lets wait and see who Veach turns those picks into. I have confidence a couple of years down the road it will be clear we got the best of the trade. [Reply]
So much for the Chiefs being rewarded for being so loyal to him. This was a fire sale value. Money aside, this is a completely lopsided trade in the Dolphins' favor. I am officially distraught and crushed. [Reply]

This.
Get over your Ex GF and start getting excited for the next puss you're about to smash.
It's time to start looking forward, my dudes. [Reply]

I don't think the contract is outrageous if you do not have a QB with a top- 10 QB contract.
Elite players at other premium positions like Edge and WR are going to get $30 million AAV in the next few years.
It's not a coincidence that the Dolphins and Jets, the two teams that were finalists, have QB on rookie contracts.

Absolutely correct. I want more SBs and the previous approach netted us just one. Time to move on. [Reply]

Exactly right, IMO. Bartholomew Varch, is not going to pay a 30 yo wr $30 mm a year. Thank you Lord Jesus. [Reply]
Very disappointing and the Chiefs offense is much worse off now.
The only way to salvage this is to trade for a DK Metcalf-type established WR because there is no way in hell that the Chiefs are coming close to replacing Tyreek in the draft.
With all of the holes on defense heading into the draft, now the Chiefs have created a MASSIVE hole on offense.
Tyreek is arguably the second most valuable/important player on the Chiefs roster, behind Mahomes. He's still just 28 years old... you find a way to keep guys like that. [Reply]
But Chris Jones? Yeah - if a mid-2 could be had, I'm in.
Why not? He’s 33. He’s just going to get doubled all game anyway. I’d at least listen. As Joe Posnanski said: “in sports always bet on youth”. Veach does that, not giving out deals to guys older than 26. Kelce was the exception and that may have run it’s course. We need to start running the balk more now anyway.

The alternative would be to have a 33 year old Kelce and Tryeek with a $30 million/yr. Contract. I hate to see him go, but with 8 picks in the top 135 we should be able to acquire some great talent if Veach continues to be on point. [Reply]
