We have Trey Smith fitting with the Bears, leaving an open spot on the interior of the Kansas City front. Martin still brings the blend of size (6-4, 315 pounds) and mobility that coaches want at the guard position. Last season, Martin played in 10 games due to a right ankle injury, but his pass block win rate of 93.7% ranked 15th among guards. He could help keep that Chiefs interior strong (though the OT position also needs a lengthy look this offseason).”

He's a one-trick seam stretcher, IMO. Not very agile, not a very good route runner. He's just a guy that goes in straight lines and catches the ball if coverage ignores him.
No way I'm giving him any sort of long-term deal. I'd take Ertz for a year or even Ty Conklin over Gesicki. I just don't like how Gesicki plays.
I mean, take your pick right? There are several others in that range to choose from... Juwan Johnson, Austin Hooper, Tyler Conklin... It's more the premise than the preference. [Reply]
I don't really feel like sifting through the entire board to try to find the right post for it.
But might the fairly substantial cap increase make tagging/trading Smith a viable possibility? We just 'found' $10 million in cap space. As did every other team in the league. [Reply]

Even though they aren’t supposed to, I’m sure the teams are discussing stuff like this.
If there’s a trade partner ready, I’m sure the Chiefs could do it. [Reply]
Rice is coming off a significant injury, will he be the same guy he was this season? NTM his legal issues and potential suspension. Worthy played well this year but he's slight. I worry about durability. We definitely need another weapon at WR. I'll go as far as say we need a WR1.
POP is a serviceable back but his running style exposes him to some significant wear-and-tear. We need a solid RB 1A, Hunt would fill that spot if we can swing the deal.
I trust the GM Bart Verch, he is pretty good at keeping the team in the running. [Reply]
