Yep. It's interesting that this isn't just a reboot/reset for Superman but for the entire DC cinematic universe, so I'm curious to see Gunn's take. The teaser is impressive and stays true to Superman as this ideal for people to strive towards and believe in (i.e., the kid in the teaser). It's anyone's guess how well the entire film fairs, but based on this teaser, Gunn's on the right track in terms of Superman's character. [Reply]

Gunn is so good at taking characters like that and making it work. I was skeptical, but the trailer scene sold me he can make it work with Superman too.
The problem with Superman is that he's almost impossible to relate to. I think Gunn believes giving him a dog makes him more relatable. Don't be surprised if Gunn kills him off in the most heroic way possible leaving us holding back tears either. [Reply]

Maybe I'm just an old fart who's lost his childhood whimsy
But a hyper sentient dog running around in a cape is just too much IMO, thats GotG kiddy territory... I'll surely rent this at some point, but the Cavill version was much more my old fart style [Reply]

That had to be Guy Gardner, which has the potential to be awesome under Gunn's direction. But Mister Terrific? THAT is interesting!

We are probably nearing Superman saturation
I really enjoyed that show. Only four seasons and I've made it through three, but it's been pretty darned great. Tyler Hoechlin did an amazing job as Clark/Supes, honestly. Definitely worth checking out. [Reply]

Is he? Why is a working class guy from a small town who just wants to help people less relatable than a billionaire genius ninja whose parents were murdered in front of him? And yes, I know, the powers. But I would argue Batman's powers are equally absurd. They have a veneer of believability, but a superpowered alien is probably more realistic than a regular human that can do the things Batman does.
Let me put it another way, who wins in a fight, Superman or Batman? [Reply]

Has anyone from the government spoken to Krypton about sending their illegals back to them? Maybe threatened them with trade embargoes if they don't do something about it? [Reply]
