Chiefs Turn around - Page 2

So, you’re Andy Reid this week. The team leaders keep saying they have to get better. You’re the coach, what do you do?

1. Get back to basics. Seems every year they play poorly, that is the message. So get back to basics, coach and practice.

2. LT. Pray DJ is adequate so Pat can have time to throw.

3. Defense. Change up the plan to work with the players available.

4. Offense. Stop the gadget plays, run some slants, crossers, screens, etc. We have two great backs, use them.

What would you suggest?

The Chargers will be taking a knee this weekend when they have the win all sealed up, but will somehow fumble the snap. The Chiefs will recover and kick a 69 yard field goal to win the game and lock up the division.

There will be much rending of garments all over the NFL as the Chiefs haters lose their minds. Buffalo fans will burn down their half-built new stadium in protest.

Then, and most unbelievable of all, Andy will make the offense even more vanilla than before.

We are in practice mode until the playoffs, The Faiders are better at pass D than Run D.
So instead of attacking their weakness we attacked their strength. We did so (IMO) to try and get better with the pass.

IF that game meant anything (playoffs) you bet your ass Andy would have been Run heavy...

I need to rewatch the game, but when did it become common place to just run into an offensive player instead of wrapping up? It’s not just the Chief’s defense.

They need to look at what is working in the league.

With the pass rush, I’m baffled there haven’t been more screens to counter that….more quick slants.

They’ll figure it out.

I said it yesterday - the last few times they've called screens, nobody blocked. The IOL, for all its accolades, is not playing good enough.

If I were Reid, I’d give DJ the start and see what I have. Now if he’s not ready for that then I’m starting Sua. But if DJ wants it, and he’s ready, then I’m all in.

Regardless of who starts, I’m sending help to the LT.

I limit the trick plays especially in the red zone.

More DHop, More Watson, More Gray, more screens to running backs.
