Not at all surprising when you consider Andy’s history.
Mahomes was getting ahnihilated in SB55 bc of backup tackles at both spots and Andy rarely at all helped those guys despite watching his QB run for his life every play. [Reply]
They were hoping he would rise to the level of competition and work to keep the spot. They over estimated his ability to win on straight traits when he’s WAYYY behind in footwork and upper body effectiveness.
Lots of film to work through and coach from. [Reply]

After week 1 I thought we had found our guy. He looked solid enough for a rookie starting in his first game. Then the Cinci game came and...eesh. [Reply]

They need to assign him a ton of muscle memory building strength training in the offseason. He needs to be able to completely transform his technique from the ground up.
His weakness in college was the double moves. When DL can get his hands down, they are able to shake him using leverage and transition from power to speed. He’s going to need to improve a great deal in his lower and upper body technique, but I do think he can get there.
His technique is sooo bad that I’m shocked they didn’t redshirt him this year. [Reply]
