I am not much of a jewelry dude. No bracelets, necklaces, occasionally a decent watch. Not even a wedding band.
I wear a decent Fitbit metal banded (daily) watch for a watch (time) and to monitor steps and such. My son doesn't wear one because he has his phone to look at the time. Not me, I need to glance at my "watch" to see the time, not dig my phone out of my pocket.
It is hard to accessorize for a guy, IMO, other than a watch and or a ring.
I have some decent watches that I wear for special occasions, not daily. My job doesn't need that. I am sure that there is some though.
Back to rings. My go to is wedding band, college ring. Not daily though.
I have a "Lord of the Rings" wedding band that I literally never take off. Other than that, I inherited a pinky ring from my father (who never wore it either, at least not that I can recall. I think it was something he picked up long before I was born).
When I first got married 30 years ago, I would take it off all the time (shower, work whatever) and of course I lost it.
Went to a pawn shop, bought a nice plain gold band and it's never come off my hand. [Reply]
No rings.
When I got married I found the wedding band made my knuckles ache when I did anything requiring grip strength. I would take it off & put it in my pocket. Afraid I would lose it like I did my HS ring, I put it away.
Still have the ring & still have the wife after 30 years.
I’m married, but don’t wear a wedding band. Lost one somewhere in the barracks in Grafenwohr, Germany about 20 years ago, and lost the second one after I took it off in a gym on post a few years after that. I hate the feel of rings on my fingers, so I just don’t bother anymore. My wife doesn’t sweat me about it. Neither of us care about jewelry.
I wear a Garmin watch, and like you, I have a nicer one for formal occasions.
My wife and I, when we first got married had just come out of bad divorces.....so when we got married, we decided on simple wedding bands....nothing fancy.
On our 20th anniversary we decided for our Christmas gift to each other, to buy nice (not expensive) wedding ring for her and a wedding band for me. And that is what we both wear to this day. Our original wedding bands we put in a small designer box that my daughter asked to have a few years back. It is displayed on her mantle next to the picture my wife and I had made on our 35th wedding anniversary.
I wear a wrist watch daily....not anything fancy.
No necklace...no bracelet...nothing extra. Guess I am an old geezer. [Reply]
Wedding band, MIA/KIA bracelet with my friends info on it, also carry a cross body sling bag pretty much everywhere. No watch, earrings or necklaces [Reply]
I don't wear any type of jewelry these days. Had a college ring, but it was stolen by a druggie who robbed my apartment.
Used to wear a gold wedding ring, until I developed an allergy or some sort of reaction to gold. Took it off and haven't worn one since.
I do wear a RoadID for when I'm cycling. That way the EMTs & police have some way to identify me when I get smashed by a car. [Reply]
I stopped wearing my wedding ring regularly a decade ago when I started working from home mostly because I never went anywhere so I never thought of putting it on
It got so bad I actually went on vacation with my wife and forgot my ring. I rallied and said we could do some role playing. Since then though I make a concerted effort to put it on every morning whether I'm going anywhere or not
I should go put it on now while I'm thinking about it
That's it though, I don't really like having stuff on me [Reply]
I can't stand wearing rings. My wedding band is tattooed on my finger.
That way I won't lose it, it won't catch on machinery and its always on. [Reply]
