I will be heading to Atlanta, GA tomorrow for a week....Training seminar for work. :-)
Anyway, I was wondering if there were any Atlanta, GA people on the board. If so what are some fun or "can't miss" places I should visit weather it be restaurant, tourist attraction, or even just a short drive. What'cha suggest? [Reply]

I was thinking that the coke museum would be pretty neat. Especially since my kitchen is decorated in coke. it'd be neat to get some unique stuff. [Reply]
If you like Greek food Avra Greek Taverna is a must. Not far from the Fox Theater, which is a great place to see anything. http://www.avragreektavern.com/
I know the guy who owns it, and believe me, the meat is the real deal. They've also got a pretty nice southern soul food selection too. For the most part most people is GA consider BBQ to be boiled pork chopped up with BBQ sauce on a bun... You go to most "BBQ" places and they smell nice and smokey outside and inside, but the meat tastes like something that was cooked in a crockpot.

yeah, just kick it inside the perimeter, on Roswell Road, all the way to P'tree, maybe 12 mis, or so... *shrug* [Reply]

YES, Stone Mountain is great and so is the aquarium. Never been to the Coke factory though. Turner Field is a nice stadium. [Reply]
For BBQ the best I've had in ATL is Fox Bros. Stay the hell away from KC Pit, it sucks.
If you want local food, get some soul food. Mary Macs Tea Room is in midtown, it's the bomb. OK Cafe is pretty good, and Gladis Knight has a fried chicken and waffles place that people seem to love.
The aquarium is awesome, I think it's the largest in the world. You can also tour the CNN center is communist propaganda is more your thing. :-)
Braves games are a lot of fun too.
I'm not up on the whole club/nightlife scene, but Atlanta is full of singles so I'm sure it's hoppin. Posted via Mobile Device [Reply]
