With the football season kicking off soon, I’m curious to know which positions we will target, and who the players are at those positions that we should be watching.
I think its in this order of importance.
-oline to replace thuney, smith or taylor (depends how they feel about nourzad)
-edge rusher (barring fau improving or resigning omenihu)
-DT (needed pretty much no matter what)
-CB (i honestly dont think a first is necessary here)
-RB (wildcard, i love pacheco, but this rb class may be worth dipping the toes in the water early for)
It's actually incredible how well positioned the Chiefs are for continued success. It's early to know the needs next year for sure, but having the extra 3rd from TEN that is probably going to be a high 3rd gives them 3 picks between the end of the 2nd and the end of the 3rd to target:
DT
RB
LB
S
developmental OL
All positions where you can get great value in those rounds
Then you have the 1st round pick to take a higher value position, DE or WR or CB.
They still have okay cap space in 2025 too, to be able to do the usual 1 year vet signings. [Reply]

Yeah, you can literally take BAA, more or less. Even if it's a "lesser positional value" type, because you might be getting the #1 player at that position and that's kind of worth it even if it's like an off ball LB or something. Just keep stacking good football players. [Reply]

^Wouldn't hate it.
I wouldn't be too locked in on guard over tackle.. the chatter about a Trey Smith contract makes me think maybe he is staying and Jawan Taylor is gone after year 3 when his contract hits an out [Reply]
Wouldn’t necessarily put it at need #1, but WR is still definitely a need next year. Right now our depth chart for 2025 while Rice is out is probably this:
1) Worthy
2) Skyy
I believe that’s it. That’s less than ideal. Perhaps get a vet in FA and then a draft pick in 3rd/4th? [Reply]

Hollywood will probably be back, he signed that deal to get paid and well isn't going to play. [Reply]

Probably, but at this point I think it’s foolhardy to put too many eggs in one bad with him. Whatever you get from him is a bonus, still need other options. [Reply]

Assuming they don't trade any, they'll have 3 day 2 picks to take another swing at WR, like they should every year. [Reply]
