Let me start by saying this is generally a horrible idea and most will say no effing way. Probably will go about as well as the “get the 2-seed” thread.
Anyways, suppose the Chiefs 3 peat and Kelce retires, going out on top. The core players to be in all 4 wins and this historic playoff run will have played an unprecedented amount of games, and in a social media era with a lot of outside impacts will likely just be dead tired. Would you consider rewarding Pat’s historic run with a comped year off, even tho it might waste a year of his prime?
Basically give him a season off to rest, reset, and recharge, but also as a side bonus, position us high in the draft for a year to reload and give him another chance to have sustained success following the mental health year. If you’re looking for a point of reference, this would sort of follow the San Antonio Spurs model when they got Tim Duncan following a year of The Admiral being out.
The only one I might feel bad for is Chris Jones who will be going into the last real year of his extension. Heck, if he still has tread on the tire, a losing season might even give Veach some juice to negotiate and extend those void years into something workable for the team with Jones’ contract.
It would be really hard to not try and go win 4 straight, but at the same time how is that even possible? They’ve got to run out of gas at some point, right? Getting to 3 in a row is gonna be a tall task as it is, but they will do it, and make history. That, plus the number 1 overall pick in the draft seems like a pretty nice future, right?
Bash away, I know wasting a year is not in Mahomes or Andy’s DNA, just something to think about.

Do I think a year of cleaning up the cap and high draft picks would be beneficial? Yes.
Do I think it can happen like that? No.
Maybe Mahomes gets a fluke broken Pinky finger and we reload. God forbid he gets the Brady injury.

This thread is an omen that we will indeed threepeat, so Mahomes, who would never take a year off, can also fourpeat, and this thread gets bumped in about 15 months and we laugh at this stupid fucking idea.

Ruthless People, right?
Talking about Judge Reinhold?
Yeah - haven't seen that movie in probably a decade or more (really can't stand Bette Midler) but yeah - it's a good one.

No I think he's talking about Bill Pullman's character who tries to swoop in and rob Judge Reinhold at gunpoint and ends up having an argument with an unseen megaphone.
