Nzoner's Game Room>Haason Reddick Requests Trade
RunKC 12:58 PM 08-12-2024
Was traded to the NYJ 4 months ago :-)

Edge-rusher Haason Reddick now has officially requested a trade from the Jets, per sources.

Just proves how much of a dick Rogers is

:-) Oh shit. Jets are fucking retarded if true.

Sources: The #Jets were informed before acquiring Haason Reddick that his contract needed to be addressed. They made an offer prior to the trade with Philly, which Reddick turned down.

The team still went ahead with the trade without a deal in place. Reddick attended his press… https://t.co/ejteW6rCbj pic.twitter.com/Q4AvMxUUnd

I'm pretty sure Schultz's sources are mostly players, and considering that conflicts with what we've heard, I'm assuming Reddick is his source.

Guys that break out late tend to have short primes.

I wouldn't be eager to give him the sort of contract he's looking for at all. Frankly, his 2023 was a step back from his 2022. He's almost certainly peaked already.

And as a guy who's something of a one-trick pass rush specialist, I just don't know how long he's going to last. Even a guy like Jerry Hughes, who had a hell of a long career as a 3rd down rusher, was awfully limited for 80% of his career.

I just don't think he's as good as he thinks he is.

I read somewhere that the Jets control his rights into next season if he sits out. Is that correct?

If he sits completely out, yes. He has to be with the team enough games to count as a league year. In the past I thought that meant showing up by like Week 10 or something.

Regardless, I don't really see any other option for him other than to take the Jet's offer and play the season. At least that way he gets paid in 2024.

Well, then Reddick has little to no leverage here. I never understood why the Jets didn't re-sign Huff?! He is younger and the cap hit would've been within range of what Reddick makes. Jets played themselves.

He'll show up and have a soft tissue injury.

Not a need here we have Karlaftis and FAU cost-controlled and I expected FAU to break out if he gets playing time soon plus we paid Omenihu and Danna.

I can understand Reddick fleeing a division where he has to face Andrew Wylie twice a year.

For what it's worth:

In a complete statement posted to the team’s social media accounts, Douglas said, “We have informed Haason that we will not trade him, that he is expected to be here with his teammates, and that he will continue to be fined per the CBA if he does not report. Since the trade discussions back in March we have been clear, direct, and consistent with our position. Our focus will remain on the guys we have here as we prepare for the regular season.” We’re going to go out on a limb and assume this statement won’t be received too well by Reddick and his camp.

This year is going to be such a dumpster fire for that team, Rodgers might just retire midseason.

So lets have a guy we've never coached, doesn't know any of our scheme etc show up and think he can play week 1.

Oh and he's disgruntled and we have a fragile locker room.

This will work great.
