Eh. It could work assuming it's not a full blown musical. If the movie is mostly about his descent into madness with sprinkles of music mixed in to express his descent, it has potential to be good.

She really can act. It's got good people in it. Man, I absolutely adored the first one. Just that perfect balance of honoring the old while exploring the new. Told its story honestly enough to ruffle feathers and make people uncomfortable on all sides.

I don't know if I actually see something that worries me or I just have so much respect for the original that I'm worried they'll fuck this up.

Jesus. I really hated the first Joker movie. Just so much over-acting, people trying to win awards, too over the top dark and violent, just not a fun movie at all. I nearly walked out of the theater on that one, and I never do that. I’m going to skip this one.
