Nzoner's Game Room>Is Trevor Lawrence a bust and vastly overrated?
scho63 07:25 AM Today
This is really shocking to me how this guy has fallen off a cliff and the Jags are really in decline.

I don't follow them with a microscope to look at every injury or player transaction but what the hell has happened to them?

Is Doug Pederson not really great?
Was Trevor overrated from the start?
Is it all about a bad team and no weapons?
Key injuries?

He is looking bad, throwing bad picks, missing guys all over.

Almost playing like Zach Wilson

Can someone tell me how he is 0-8 in his last 8.

He was overrated at Clemson, this isn't a new thing. College QBs with NFL talent around them are often fool's gold.

Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence.

Nice, Clemson.

LSU is a bizarre exception to the rule it seems.

Lawrence has just not gotten a bit better since he got in the league.

He's maybe an average QB. Maybe.

There's talent to be more, but there's just something missing. It's the same concerns people have with Williams - does the guy have the drive to do the work? Or does he just want to appear to be doing so?

Last season was a pretty massive red flag. It was a shit or get off the pot season. He had weapons, he had stability, he had a solid OL and solid offensive coaching staff.

And he was completely forgettable.

Last season needed to be a 4,800 yard, 30 TD, 10 INT sort of season. Instead he regressed from where he was in 2022 and his INT rate up to where it was as a rookie while his TD rate fell.

And Pederson's going to take the blame for it. Then they'll fire him and people will cite the 'instability' in giving Lawrence a pass for next season as well.

Then suddenly he'll be 5+ seasons into his career with ZERO development and people will still be looking to make excuses for him.

Fallen off a cliff? He has been an <= average QB at best his entire NFL career.

Trevor Lawrence doesn't seem to have the desire or drive to be great.

He's been able to get by with superior physical abilities in high school and in college (also at Clemson surrounded by vastly superior talent compared to most opposing teams).

You need more than that to succeed in the NFL.

Only if said LSU QB goes from throwing to top-notch talent in college to throwing to top-notch talent in the NFL.

The Jags are another example of the team that made “exciting moves” and was supposed to challenge the Chiefs, but will continue to fall short.

We heard the same shit with the Browns, Chargers, Dolphins, and now Texans.

The AFC is really just the Chiefs and Bills, because (unsurprisingly) they have the best QBs.

Trevor recommends Clairol hair spray with extra hold.

Trevor doesn't use hairspray, he's a leave-in conditioner guy for sure

I’d like to see him with a better offensive coach but he appears to be a bust.

Carson Wentz -> Daniel Jones -> Trevor Lawrence

This should be the progression of Chiefs backup QBs.

Overrated by his team for sure. Nobody else thinks he’s any good.

He consistently misses throws that simply shouldn’t be missed. Combine that with bad decision making and you apparently get Daniel Jones.
