Lawrence has just not gotten a bit better since he got in the league.
He's maybe an average QB. Maybe.
There's talent to be more, but there's just something missing. It's the same concerns people have with Williams - does the guy have the drive to do the work? Or does he just want to appear to be doing so?
Last season was a pretty massive red flag. It was a shit or get off the pot season. He had weapons, he had stability, he had a solid OL and solid offensive coaching staff.
And he was completely forgettable.
Last season needed to be a 4,800 yard, 30 TD, 10 INT sort of season. Instead he regressed from where he was in 2022 and his INT rate up to where it was as a rookie while his TD rate fell.
And Pederson's going to take the blame for it. Then they'll fire him and people will cite the 'instability' in giving Lawrence a pass for next season as well.
Then suddenly he'll be 5+ seasons into his career with ZERO development and people will still be looking to make excuses for him. [Reply]
Trevor Lawrence doesn't seem to have the desire or drive to be great.
He's been able to get by with superior physical abilities in high school and in college (also at Clemson surrounded by vastly superior talent compared to most opposing teams).
You need more than that to succeed in the NFL. [Reply]
