Nzoner's Game Room>Receiver on Netflix
TwistedChief 07:28 PM 07-08-2024
Sequel to Quarterback drops Wednesday.

Justin Jefferson
George Kittle
Deebo Samuel
Davante Adams
Amon-Ra St. Brown

As much as I loved Quarterback last season with Mahomes, I feel like they cast this pretty damned well outside of Tyreek who probably was the first pick but probably had demands production wasn’t going to agree to.

We should have some fun Chiefs moments too given a couple 49ers, an AFCW opponent, a guy we started our season against, and the best receiver in football whom Sneed shut down and got injured against us.

Ha, I was just about to say one of those 5 players isn't even close to the others. Kittle has no business in this show other than his personality. The love he gets as being an "exceptional" player is astounding. He's an injury-prone guy with 2, maybe 3 really good seasons. He's not even remotely close to Travis Kelce, as Kittle's best season would be Kelce's 7th best season.

He should be on the show called "Blocker"

Kittle is definitely good enough to be on this show, and personality wise will likely carry more than his fair share of the entertainment. Remember we had Marcus Mariota on Quarterback, who is a bottom-rung QB mostly devoid of any personality.

He is a tight end, not a receiver. And the notion that he is great enough at his position to be considered "up there" with those Receivers is absurd.

Exactly.

I'm going to pass on this one. Plus don't want to watch a show featuring a Raider

Really? “Absurd”? Kittle has been an All Pro more than any of these receivers and even one more time than Mahomes.

He’s damned good when he’s healthy.

I stated it earlier...Kittle's best career season would be Kelce's 7th best.

Yes, you said that. But it doesn’t make it true.

So that season where Kittle had 1377 yards receiving - at the time an NFL record for TEs - while also being the best blocking TE in football… Please tell me which 6 seasons Kelce has had that were clearly better.

But putting that aside, who cares about this Kelce red herring? Why is he even being mentioned in this conversation?

Because I don't believe Kittle is so elite (as a TE) that he should be included in a show called Receiver. As you mentioned, a large chunk of why some analysts believe he's elite is because of his blocking.

Clearly we disagree and that is ok. I get where you are coming from, but at the same time, I just don't find Kittle to be elite. He's literally had one really good season IMO.

Why are people debating whether Kittle belongs on this show? All of the guys here had similarly good individual seasons which makes for a pretty dull and boring storyline. What made QB compelling was the contrast between the greatness of Mahomes, the steady eddy Kirk Cousins and the dog shit Mariota.

This Receiver show needed more JAGs and overrated divas. Imagine how much better it could have been if they had selected one of our shitty WRs like Toney, Skyy Moore or MVS. You'd get a view on the inside of what it's like for a team to win in spite of the receiver profiled on the show.

He’s a 4-time All Pro. That means he was thought of as the best or second best in his position 4 of his first 7 seasons.

If that doesn’t make him elite as a TE in your eyes, then I think your problem is that you don’t value the position itself.

The Super Bowl starts at about the 36 minute mark of the last episode. A few minutes prior is a little bit of the pregame stuff with Kelce and Kittle talking.

As does Toney. Hardman has three more rings than all of them combined. And Moore/Toney/Hardman also have more TD receptions individually in the SB than all of the other receivers combined.
