Nzoner's Game Room>Whining about the team with the best record in the NFL?
Hammock Parties 12:30 AM 11-19-2024
You are a fucking bitch.

This place is fucking unbelievable right now. You'd think we were struggling to stay in the wild card race.

GET A CLUE

The Chiefs are about to win four in a row. That will run us to 13-1.

We'll lose to either the Texans OR the Steelers. One of them. Not both.

We'll be 14-2 going into Week 17, and the one seed will be LOCKED UP.

We will then rest starters and enjoy two weeks off before we begin the run to the threepeat.

Bookmark this fucking thread. And clean up your vaginal blood. IT STINKS.

I never thought we would go undefeated. I was not one of those with the doom and gloom posts. I can be disappointed we lost without taking the eyes off the prize.

But, we have a long history of heart crushing loses. I totally understand their views. I've lived the last 20 years with you guys sharing our shared pain of those losses.

There is multiple reasons to be hopeful. Pacheco is back this week. Just think about the cold playoff games...defenses trying to tackle Pacheco and Hunt in the cold all game. Now, we have Brown to run those deep routes. Mahomes will be the same Mahomes he has always been in the playoffs.

Suck it up buttercups. Enjoy this ride.

We’re 9-1 and tied for the best record. But it’s pretty clear we have concerns. Kelce is showing his age, LT is still an unstable position, Pat is off which throws the whole offense off. We had a bad game, but there’s also a gameplan that teams are using against us now, and we haven’t really figured it out yet. It’s ok to be worried about the issues the team has, while supporting them. We’re 9-1, but it ain’t all rainbows and unicorns.

Every team has concerns. It's okay to discuss those concerns. But we're 9-1. With a pretty tough schedule especially to open the season.

We lost a game on the road against a team that's probably the 3rd best in the league right now. It happens.

The defense is struggling a bit but has some secondary losses to scheme around. That will get better and just like with the Bengals a couple years ago, spags was probably playing a little vanilla in preparation for seeing the bills again later.

LT is the biggest issue but we still have a lot of talent to scheme around this as well. This team has a killer instinct in the post season. Nobody wants to play them.

The bills will drop some stupid game they shouldn't and the chiefs tend to do this too.

Lots of games left still and I doubt any teams wins out. We have a great shot to win it all again this year. Going to need some breaks just like every year.

Mahomes has been off this year that's undeniable. Now as far as the reason for that is who knows. Is it the receivers, is it the offense, is it nagy, is it the play calls, is it the protection, is it a culmination of all of the above?

Our left tackle sucks so let's not give him help on that side or try to run quicker passes/screens to help negate the rush. That's what drives me the most nuts. It's like we're too stubborn to realize that our LT is nothing more than a tackling dummy and we seemingly make no adjustments for that.

Edit: this doesn't mean we suck but we have more issues than we have had the last two years and we're still 9-1

They've got some potential fatal flaws. They can't get to the QB and aren't explosive on offense.

They had higher sack rates last year, but when you kinda drilled down on that, it was alot of linebackers/CB's/Safeties.

The front 4 isn't getting the job done.

I'm certainly not in that camp, but we have all seen a LOT of Chiefs games, especially in the Reid years, and it's not whining to grade the eyeball test. We all believe the sputtering offense is capable of so much more than they have displayed for TWO years now, and the problems (injuries, tackles) can't be fixed this year. The defensive weaknesses (pass rush, 2nd corner) were also put under the spotlight against good competition; hopefully Omenihu helps, but praying a guy coming off knee surgery will fix the pass rush is a bit desperate. Hope for the best, but this team needs PM to play at a HOF level to stand a chance, and he currently is not, hasn't at any point this year, and didn't for a good portion of last year. It also needs the D to end this year like they did last year, and they won't if Nazeeh can't get his shit together and the line can't find the next gear in pass rush. There is never anything wrong with an honest analysis.

cool! another TrueFan GroupThink thread. let me explain something to you. people Are different. they have differing experiences both as fans and in real life that impacts how they root for their favorite football team . I became a fan in 1967 at the age of 9. those chiefs teams were AMAZING to root for. then we went through 50 years of nut punches. everyone makes fun of the Jets in terms of futility but until a few years ago we were the Jets. both teams had gone 50 years without a SB appearance let alone a win . that shapes how you watch games. I don't begrudge any fan's way of rooting for the Chiefs. the TrueFan competition is pretty tedious. when I need you to tell me how to root for my team I will let you know.

The Texans aren't winning in Arrowhead, but I'm not so sure KC will be resting starters in the last week. The Bills will probably lose in Detroit, but they might win the rest. Hopefully the Rams get em.

Basically... if you want to be a miserable fuck throughout the course of the greatest run in franchise history, be a miserable fuck.

I mean, we'll be here to mock and laugh at you, but it's your right to experience the dynasty how you want and ours to react accordingly.

Winning close games is always good but is usually indicative of a good not great team.

How is it different from 2020? Fans seem to view that team as dominant even though they were scraping by every week and lost at home to the Raiders.

They were violently explosive on offense and blew away teams early thru the mid part of the year only to slot down a bit but the explosiveness was always there.

At this point, there's no reason to doubt what this team can and will do in the playoffs. We all know this is nothing but an extended pre-season to these guys, which Kelce basically proved during the Bills game with his golf clap at the end of it. I almost think they are partially relieved that they lost. Taking every team's best shot week after week for 3-4 years has got to be more exhausting than anyone here can even imagine, not to mention they've literally played almost an entire extra season in that time, which is insane to think about.

I think people are getting bored, because the games just aren't exciting anymore. We look like the 2000s Patriots, and those games were just brutal to watch. People want all the high flying shit and blowing everyone out 52-10. It's just not realistic anymore, and you need to adjust your mindset accordingly. The regular season is just an obstacle at this point. Once the playoffs roll around, Andy brings out the big guns from the playbook and we flip the switch. Don't know how many times it has to happen for people to understand it, but I get it.

Think about where we were last year compared to this year at this time. Pretty safe to say, as the old CP saying goes, we'll be fine. I would hate to be a person who can't convince themselves otherwise after everything we've seen. You're really not soaking this in as much as you should be if that's the case, and you also might not quite understand exactly what it is you're watching.
