Nzoner's Game Room>2024 MLB Playoffs Thread (non-Royals)
SHOWTIME 05:38 PM Yesterday

Who's winning it this year?

This is a thread for non-Royal playoff games since I assume there will be a separate one for the Royals…

Big reason they're playing 2 is Arizona. If the same team wins both games Arizona sneaks in.
Ahhh. I keep forgetting about the Arizona angle. Thanks!

Ok, I keep forgetting that part. Thanks!

The Braves were trying to optimize their playoff situation hoping they could get in without using Sale.

A strong argument could be made the Braves should have used Sale Sunday. At least they would have been able to reset Monday with low leverage and 27th, 28th roster options.

Oh boy, Braves threatening with runners at the corners. One out. Diaz coming in for the 5 out save…

either chris sale is forced to pitch an elimination game in a ballpark that is at this point ~5-8% chlorine gas or we get an all time, historic, soul-crushing mets meltdown.

from a hater’s perspective, there’s no losing here.

Yeah or even used him Saturday. I know they've tried to be careful with him but if he pitched Saturday maybe he could give you an inning today then still pitch in the wild card round. It often seems like the better strategy to just go for it and deal with the consequences when you get to them.

Well this game is off the chain. Albies 3-run double. Braves jump back in the lead.

Shohei Ohtani will still likely win NL MVP, but that moment might have gotten Francisco Lindor some first-place votes.
