We are average 5.2 yards per play, which is *by far* the worst of the Mahomes era and actually *below average* this year in the NFL. He's probably the worst starting LT in the league and kills drives.
I think you have to bring in one of the former starters who are on the street. [Reply]

This much is a true story. Perhaps rely on Pat dropping back 3/4ths of the time a little less. [Reply]

I can't imagine our pass rush getting worse after adding Charlie I back to the middle.
And lets not forget that Baltimore and the regular AFC powerhouses are liquid ass this year and more easily beatable than ever.
We still have a good of a chance if not better than any one single team, but running the table is going to be hard with this LT situation. There are good teams out there. [Reply]
I do think we somehow need to get a guy off the street because it's a huge issue. The other glaring weakness in our team is CB but that should hopefully sort itself out when Watson returns at the end. [Reply]

Good LT’s rarely ever hit FA. The last good one was Trent Williams about 5 years ago.
What do you want Veach to do?
There were about 7 or 8 Tackles that were taken ahead of Kinglsey. They went for Worthy in the first round, who's been really good, and had to wait until late round 2 to address tackle. [Reply]

Not anything because honestly it’s only football. But to gloss it over and pretend like it’s not an issue is absurd. Best case is that Pacheco adds another layer, but with these two tackles? Not confident. Other contenders in the AFC like Buffalo and Baltimore have far more weapons than we do and it’s a problem. Don’t get me started on the defense. [Reply]

There were other calls/no calls but you have to adapt, improvise, and overcome.
Chiefs aren’t losing two more games in the regular season so it will be fine but we are weak at LT and Mahomes keeps missing Worthy deep. One should get better (Mahomes), but LT either needs a vet body that can play or we need to call games differently. [Reply]

I think he has to think about making a call. At least bring someone in for a workout to check the temperature.

Yep, that would be our #2 most glaring weakness. At least there is some little bit of hope there, though. This scheme seems a bit tough so maybe it’ll click for Johnson at some point. Or maybe Joshua Williams will step back up to his 2022 form. Or maybe we’ll get Watson back in time for the postseason.
There is really no hope at LT. Wanya will likely never be serviceable and we don’t have a secret ace up our sleeve at swing tackle.
I guess the only thing I could imagine is kicking Thuney out to LT but I just don’t see Reid doing that. [Reply]
Mahomes can overcome it, but it's still hard to believe we didn't have a better plan for this position than Kingsley and Wanya coming into the year. Mahomes hasn't looked comfortable all season long. [Reply]
