I don’t really get it. What exactly does he offer that worthy or mecole don’t? The only explanation I can think of is maybe we can have him run go routes and worthy run more intermediate stuff. Get our offense ready so that when Hollywood comes back, we can use Hollywood with the intermediate stuff and make worthy our east/west and north/south guy.

But then again why aren’t we doing that with hardman

Insurance in case Worthy gets hurt. Also a possible depth player with traits

No downside to this at all
Especially if it clears the way for Skyy and Clyde to hit the door.

Good catch radius with the long arms. Small hands is a concern for contested catches and maybe fumbling issues. Taxi squad trial is always worth a look with these types

Between getting Hollywood and worthy and yet still bringing hardman back, we walked into the season really wanting speed. It’s just interesting because mecole has the speed and we haven’t made much use of it. Mvs has speed and we didn’t seem to try to bring him back.

He’s a flanker/X similar to Worthy on how he fits. Similar size and speed. Veach keeps stacking those guys for future depth. Doesn’t mean much for this year. But it’s a trial run to a probable futures contract for 2025 and cheap depth. No risk. Similar to Cam Thomas. He’s a carbon copy of Karloftus in height weight and shorter arms. Both fit in the 4-3 under as a 5tech - and out to a wide 9. 3tech on pass downs. Herring fits the same profile. Thomas is for depth now but much more of a next year contributor. Same with Marlon the former eagles DT whose last name I can’t spell at the moment. Those types are fringe guys yet still young and will be on someone’s roster. So if you can get get a good extended look at these guys that you liked coming out you have a good idea whether they can possibly contribute the next year. He’s been really good in evaluating who to keep on the 53 and who they put on the ps. And with people coming back activated off PUP and IR if you have to cut one off these guys you have future plans for at least you got that extended look. Lots of time they might wind up back on the waiver wire. I remember 20 years ago with us posters admiring the Steelers and ravens how they continually had little staff turnover and kept aquiring fits for both sides of the ball. Veach has a great run going in personnel/roster building for now and the future
