This team's offense has been flawed since KJ became a starter two seasons ago (and that was even when KJ was playing with two NBA wing players and McCullar in 2022-2023). He makes it so easy for any decent coach to game plan against us because he can't do anything offensively from any distance on the court and isn't a real lob threat at his size. You just can't hide a guy like this in a half court offense.
Self has all these numbers (and also all the numbers that show how much better KU is when Flory is on the court) and hasn't adjusted whatsoever. I can only assume he just doesn't care at this point about winning as much as he used to? [Reply]

In hindsight, KJ was probably better at the 5. He could at least take advantage of slower 5’s with his athleticism.
At the 4, he’s being defended by guards most the time anymore who are taller and nearly as athletic. Especially easy to defend, when they know he can’t shoot at all.
He can’t blow by a 4 like he could a 5 on occasion.
He doesn’t rebound against either, so that was moot. [Reply]
He hitched the post championship seasons to two players that aren't KU caliber. He refused to recruit over them and brought in Hunter who doesn't always give effort. Self is too stubborn to admit he is wrong. Recruit athletes that can shoot and allow players to make mistakes. He gets into his guys head way too much. [Reply]
This is why I don't care about this year's team. At this point I expect to lose the first game in the tourney. Bill refuses to go with his most effective lineup. [Reply]
Darryn Petersen scored 58 and made the last second 3 pointer to win the game 88-86 over AJ Dybansta's team. Peterson the #2 recruit committed to KU and Dybansta #1 recruit committed to BYU. [Reply]
