Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]

Man, fuck all that. He wouldn't have to drift from the pocket if they weren't getting beaten regularly by three and four man rushes.
Mahomes is playing behind basically the same OLs Alex Smith played behind; we had a couple bookend tackles and constantly changing interior OL. Patrick's ability to read the D and move around in the pocket cut the amount of sacks we take in half. Seriously, this OL sucks and people think it's a good unit entirely because Mahomes is the best deodorant on Earth. [Reply]

Pat also does the same thing too often. He’s dropping back too far the stepping up and out of the pocket.
People blame Schwartz for that but it wasn’t his fault on that Crosby sack. Guy doesn’t have eyes in the back of his head to see Pat. He blocked him and then Pat took off again and Crosby knew it was going to happen before he did it.
Pat is becoming too predictable and needs to change it up.
Try counting.
Mahomes has no confidence in the OL for good reason. Theres a reason almost every long pass keeps being called back. KC cant hold a 3 man rush with 6 guys for 4 seconds. If they do, you can be sure someone held.
That's pathetic. Mahomes covers their ass far more than he puts them in bad positions. [Reply]
The Chiefs OL isn't perfect. But this happens far more than you'd like to acknowledge. Pass protection is a balance between the blocking unit and the QB. Right now, there's no balance. Mahomes bails out of the pocket early. Next play the LG gets beat, etc...
Mahomes bailing clean pockets isn’t really even an issue for us since he’s just as dangerous from outside the pocket as he is inside it. Not to mention he very rarely runs into sacks.
I’ll take the one sack he runs into probably every three or four games if it means he avoids an extra 10 sacks in that same timeframe. [Reply]
Those are the number of sacks Alex Smith took in his time as a starter here in KC.
26
17 (missed three games)
Those are the number of sacks Patrick’s taken in his time as a starter here. He’s got 6 now and that would put him on pace to take around 20 again this season.
Same scheme, same shitty offensive line Alex had.. Mahomes is a fucking wizard. [Reply]

Video doesn't lie. His brother has been far from dominant this season. Maybe it's injury issues. Regardless, he's not a strength of the team right now. That's a change from the past. [Reply]
Nick knows what's up. He knows that game was nothing more than an anomaly and is setting them up to give bad takes so he can make them look dumb later. [Reply]
