All this talk about series, how network TV Sucks, and how hard it is to find quality shows, and some excellent shows that fly under the radar, I need a comprehensive review of all the series I need to see.
For good entertainment, I would be willing to buy DVD sets. But I've recently picked up HBOGO by kiping it from my parents, and recently got Netflix and Amazon Prime.
Here is a listing of shows that I currently own or have seen all the episodes of. If it isn't on the list, just assume I haven't seen it.

I work a fuckton, so it is hard for me catch a series while it is on to get it on the DVR, but I recognize the entertainment value and am willing to go after the Must See shows. Accordingly, I'm not necessarily looking for anything that is still running. I'm up for watching stuff that has run its course.
So what say you, Planet? Which shows should I see?

Yeah -- I like Upload.
I do think they probably need to put a bow on things, though. That's a show that could get REALLY lousy if they don't have a logical end-game in mind and if they have one but it takes too long to get there, the filler would be pretty terrible as well.
If it wraps up in season 4, that's probably perfect. If they go to 5, that might be okay. If it goes beyond that, it'll just be awful. [Reply]

I'm gonna make a really odd comparison here, but Last Kingdom felt to me a little like Silicon Valley in that every season they seemed to just hit the same beats. Silicon Valley was the same thing every year -- ragtag misfits have idea, idea stalls, they have breakthrough, idea gets stolen by rich guy(s), misfits figure out a workaround and end the season on the precipice of success -- next season it's come apart somehow, rinse and repeat.
I'm not gonna get too spoilery here, but the broad strokes of every season of Last Kingdom seemed awfully similar and Uhtred always seemed to end up about where he started.
I didn't watch the movie -- maybe that would've helped provide an actual path forward for me. But it just felt repetitive after a bit. [Reply]

Right, but Uhtred getting called assling consistently is wildly hilarious.
The movie is pretty decent. Repetitiveness would be less worrisome than plot armor stuff.
The movie is decent enough. Well worth the time. [Reply]
Watching Bad Monkey on Apple right now. I didn't care for the narrator at first, but it's grown on me. Vince Vaughan is hilarious in this show. [Reply]

Yeah its very formulaic at times, but aren't all of these series that way?
They're all basically soap operas for men
Good guy wins
Bad guy wins
A short lived peace is achieved
Bad guy wins
Good guy wins
Rinse and repeat that chorus with plenty of bloody action [Reply]
