Long story short, im gonna pour another 1200 bucks into it, and it will never ****in break again lol. Should be good for 1500 HP after this.
It will be done Monday, going in Tuesday, getting the base tune on and then to exhaust on wednesday, and back on the dyno friday or saturday night to finish up the tune.
Looking to make 420 on the dyno (worlds stingiest) through the 4l80, get it all dialed in, and then start working on the nitrous.
Car will need rear bumper and hood painted after that, and will definitely be ready for the first versailles cruise/magic dragon etc. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE SOME OF YOU THERE IF YOUR WIVES WILL LET YOU~
Always something. Good luck getting it rolling this coming week.
I am doing a radiator and fan upgrade this weekend and searching for a high RPM oil leak which I suspect is the harmonic balancer seal.
"Shouldnt" be a big deal but that balancer was a bitch when the motor was out of the car so not looking forward to working on it with the motor in the car. I may hone it out a little to open it up a bit. [Reply]

yea, racecar gonna racecar.
Took my converter down to get it cleaned out from debris today, and he said they would have had it done today but had to order a billet part something or other.
I still dont understand the magic inside an automatic transmission. [Reply]

I'm a guy that will pull hundreds of bolts, throw them in a bucket and then put it all back together with every bolt where it belongs (because that's my ocd) and I won't touch a transmission, other than to r&r it. [Reply]

Yup, I think that's the only part of a car I haven't gutted, I have installed a shift kit, put a clutch in a stick etc...but never tore apart an auto tranny or a manual one for that matter.
The Tremec 5 Speed in my car is the only thing I haven't had my hands in on the entire car from electrical to suspension, rear end etc....Its been as far apart as you can take that car.
When I had the motor out over the summer I took the trans to Ozark Speed to have it beefed up to handle 1000HP. I now just enough to know I dont want tear into it. [Reply]

Yup, and my buddy who helped me build the car wont touch it either, thats why I have to pony up.
Hell, even when I went in to drop off the converter, Steve (the transmission guy) had parts EVERYWHERE laid out on his bench. It takes a special kind of mind to understand these things and even more so to know wtf you are doing with them beyond basics.
I understand how a manual transmission works.. but autos are just an insane madmans LSD dream. [Reply]
yesterday my brothers came over and we got my 66 International running and driving for the first time since 2009(according to owner).
Still need to do a lot, but it ran like a damn top... idle was smooth. With some time bleeding the clutch and breaks, I was able to take it for a ride with an external tank and fuel pump....but I've quickly gone from "i'll probably sell it when it's running" to "This is pretty cool and I should keep it".
It's looking like I'll end up being "that guy" who ends up with a row of old International trucks.....and after seeing the travel all above....maybe one of those.
Got the trans in the car tonight, more BS, leaks etc.. got it all shored up and god damn it feels tight. Exhaust tomorrow then finalizing the tune. God im glad to be back in a real car [Reply]
I know this is boring to all you racecar guys but I finally got my rig going. It wasn't without beating my head against a wall at some things, but it was nice to get going.
I did monkey some of the colors around so it looks less like winter in Kansas, but this is what I spend all my time and money on trying to make run. [Reply]

Not boring at all. Those are legit rigs. Nice pictures with that beautiful blue sky and not a raised hill for as far as the eye can see. [Reply]
