I know there are enough of us to participate in this thread, even when our seasons inevitably go to shit.
KSU vs Western Illinois today, tip-off at 3:00 pm.
One thing I noticed near the end of the game on Friday night - we had 5 true freshman on the court, and still played sound basketball. None of them were scrub walk-ons either. While I don't think we will make a serious run at anything this year, the foundation is being laid for a solid program in the future. [Reply]

The homesickness thing is a load of BS. It has everything to do with what would have been a diminishing role in '10-'11, and Dom's continued arrogance thinking he's more than what he really is. The coaches had had enough, and the decision was made (mutually) late this Spring (May). [Reply]

This is a problem when your program is on the rise and players think they should play more. See Micah Downs. [Reply]
I'm not one to throw a player under the bus. Dominique is a great athlete. He's been a great representative of K-State. However, I don't think he ever really "bought in" to Franks system. Offensively he has not improved since he came on camps, but defensively he generally brought it. Still - it's a huge loss, and our weak 3 spot just got weaker with him departing. [Reply]

Yep
It means Southwell is going to have step up big time, and McGruder is going to have to see some time at 3 as well - which means Russell is going to have to see more minutes at 2. Truthfully, this just sucks any way you cut it. [Reply]

I like our 3's coming in for next season (2011-2012). [Reply]
My concern is that Jamar folded in the tourney. He has to get mentally tougher and develop the ability to dribble more than once before turning it over. Rodney will certainly play some 3, as he's an excellent rebounder for his size. Definitely means Russell, Southwell and even Spradling need to step up. [Reply]
