The Hellcat was a manual and my 2012 GT500 was a manual. Before that, I had a 2006 Mustang GT and the auto trans shifted much faster. The lag on the Vette absolutely kills me. [Reply]
It's supposed to be able to run with anything the US makes right now short of a ZR1. It has the 10 speed for sure. With the magnetic ride control and brake packages they have on that thing, you're bordering on a no-shit supercar for under $70K.
Though if you're set on a convertible, I don't think they plan on having one with that engine package.
EDIT: I stand corrected, you evidently CAN get the ZL1 in a convertible. Still a tick under $70K for a car that's going to be able to hang with anything south of a $500k Italian. Probably the best bargain in the automotive world right now (unless you're looking at some of those brilliant sedans that BMW, Audi and Mercedes can hardly sell right now; you can just about steal a 5 series or an Audi A/S 7). My last few toys have all been manuals but I really like the relaxation of the automatic w/paddle shifters. However, my A8 trans sucks. If I'm even 3/4 throttle and upshift, there's enough lag that rpm's just continue to build until it decides to finally shift. I want it to shift the instant I tap the paddle. The A10 is supposed to be much firmer shifting.
Also, I'm regretting not going full old man and getting a convertible. I love the hard top but hate dicking with putting it on and off every time I stop at a grocery store etc. They don't offer a motorized hard top for the Corvette, so a convertible it is.
Plus, I'll probably do it right this time and just get a Z06 but not sure. I don't really go anywhere where the 460hp feels inadequate though. Jeez, I am turning into an old man to say that.
You can have the trans tuned to fix all that. [Reply]

I know but a bunch of guys have been getting GM warranties voided lately, due to tunes. GM has recently become assholes about it, I guess. I had tunes on my Mustangs. [Reply]

I will try to checkout a ZL1 in person. I just love the looks of the C7 so much. [Reply]
Had a bunch of maintenance work done on my Mustang today. All researched and put together thanks to asking Sauto a million questions and him knowing his fucking shit.
Rep that beautiful bastard when you guys get a chance. Tell him that he's loved. [Reply]

I decided to wait a year or two on the A10 to let them work the kinks out. So yesterday I ordered a Z06 convertible, which should be here in 4-8 weeks. Same color, options etc, except I got red interior too.
Anyone interested in my Grand Sport? 2017, 1200 miles, 3LT trim. Removable carbon fiber hard top roof panel. It was the most optioned-out Grand Sport they had in Des Moines last fall. They offered 54k trade in and I want to get a little more than that out of it.

What is that car worth? I figured it would be a hell of a lot more than 54.
Thank you. I've been poor most of my life so it certainly feels great to be to this point. I gave about 70 for it last fall and have only put about 1200 miles on it. They're probably about right on their trade-in offer but I'm sure I could get more selling private party. It just isn't worth it to deal with Craigslist idiots though. [Reply]

Yeah, that sounds like a good way to get your car wrecked. [Reply]
