Chiefs have traded or missed on more top draft choices than hit.
If not for Kelce, Jones and Mahomes KC is not winning big. Veach was not the guy drafting these guys.
I like Veach. I do think he gets way too much credit and too much blame. Andy is in on everything and Spags too. Mahomes certainly has input.
I... don't understand where people are coming from with draft concerns when it comes to Veach.
Lets go down the list of failures in the top picks.
Hardman is a decent role player and returner. Maybe that's underwhelming for a 2nd rounder, but its far from a bust.
MEH was GOOD his rookie year until the injury with the Saints that I sincerely believe ruined him. I'd take it back because RBs in the first round aren't great value but whatever.
Moore is horrible, you're right on this one.
FAU is still a work in progress in my opinion. If he doesn't show it early next year, I doubt its happening. We'll see.
Same with Kingsley. It looks pretty bad now, but its way too early to call.
Worthy is doing fine, chill out. Mentioning him with the likes of Skyy Moore is ridiculous.
And even then thats a handful of guys that are "bad" picks compared to Bolton, Creed, McDuffie, Karlaftis, and Rashee Rice as successful top picks and the enormous amount of talent he's found after the first two rounds.
There's just, so little to complain about with Veach. Hes not perfect,, but he's damn close to it. I don't understand what he realistically should be doing better.
