This is my manual. The two sides to it:
1) The manual says so, BMW knows best, it helps with seals and setting mechanical parts.
2) The concept is outdated and precautionary (and maybe even CYA)...and you especially shouldn't sit at one extreme and baby it for 2000 miles and then run it hard.

And of course there's nothing really proving one or the other, just individual experience.... I'm not going beat it like a rental, but not going to really worry about it, either. Going from a 3 speed to 8 speed, 4500rpm seems like it would be hard to do for normal driving outside of maybe eco mode. :-)

Avoid full load or kickdown under all circum‐
stances.
From 1,200 miles/2,000 km
The engine and vehicle speed can gradually be
increased.

Due to technical factors associated with their
manufacture, tires do not achieve their full
traction potential until after an initial breakingin
period.
Drive conservatively for the first
200 miles/300 km.

Brake system
Brakes require an initial break-in period of ap‐
prox. 300 miles/500 km to achieve optimized
contact and wear patterns between brake
discs and brake pads. Drive moderately during
this break-in period.
Clutch
The function of the clutch reaches its optimal
level only after a distance driven of approx.
300 miles/500 km. During this break-in period,
engage the clutch gently.

I spent all day Sunday vinyl wrapping some trim pieces, plastidipping my wheels to black etc.

Vinyl is hard, but after 1 day of learning from scratch I am sure I can do a roof, other trim pieces, and smaller parts etc.

Grocery getters can look good too~

Those of you who work on cars need to be closer to me. Lewdog would pay decent money for someone who knows what the fuck they are doing.

Turning up the volume is just going to draw more attention, some of it unwanted (poh poh).

I don't have a good recent pic of mine but it still looks mostly like this, with a few more battle scars.

That’s close to a future plan.
I’m eventually going to have to do some body work, there’s rust bubbling out in various spots, so I want to do a complete body off.
B&W Truck Beds is just 15 miles from me and we’ve already measured my Jeeps tub to ensure it will fit in their powder coat booth. So when I do it I’m going to have them powder coat the exterior crinkle coat black then Line-X (Herculiner, Rhino Liner) the interior.

I always heard Line-X was pretty much the best one to go with..for some reason I think there is someone on the board who works for Line-X or isconnected with them..I will try to figure that out and see if they can hook you up if you want..I think he posted in the thread about the guy who bought his son a 2015 Silverado

I ordered a new set of 20x10.5 & 20x9 wheels with 315/35 & 275/40 Nitto Invos. They should be here in a few weeks. Hopefully I got the offset etc correct.
