He was never a speed guy. But even last season he was regularly stacking DBs down the sideline. DHop is closer to Larry Fitzgerald or Jerry Rice; not blessed with elite speed, but still able to stack DBs 25+ yds downfield because they're elite route-runners.
Plus, DHop can still dominate underneath, and over the middle. [Reply]

That's why this is a move they have to make, it's sort of doubles the value getting him on this roster, because you're also weakening what the Bills or Ravens would have been. You can't keep expecting Pat to overcome these drastically better rosters by himself. Give him another dude. Move some money around and just make it happen.
Next year's cap is all going to depend on what they want to do with guys like Gay and Sneed. If they know there isn't a chance of getting them back...then it opens up a lot of shit. [Reply]

Willie Gay is not getting some massive deal, Sneed on the other hand. [Reply]

As exciting as Dhop is - i'm going to remain cautiously optimistic that he actually lands in KC. Would be awesome to see, but shoot Odell got a 1 year 15M deal worth up to 18M.
Dhop is the better receiver at this point imo and may sign for even more somewhere.
After all, he still is going to want to get paid something; he isn't going to play for anything like a vet min contract. And I can't see him coming to KC for less than what we're payng MVS.
I think if Andy/Pat really want him, Veach can make that happen, but if he wants more than say $12 million (idk, just throwing a dart at the wall), probably he won't pull the trigger. [Reply]
