Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]

We do a variety of things. We have a home gym, essentially. Olympic bench press, a collection of dumbbells, speed bag, pull up bar, medicine balls, resistance straps etc.
Back then i would lead my wife and her GF through the sets etc (these days they don't need me anymore). [Reply]
Just chiming in to say that the Jay Cutler comp isn't so bad. Cutler had a lot of tools and in my opinion could have been pretty great if he had one ounce of work ethic [Reply]

There is a porn script in here somewhere...:-) [Reply]
I was coming home from work, on the phone with a buddy who is a Packers fan, tells me the Chiefs traded up to 10. He says he thinks it's for a LB, Reddick, and before he finishes, I say if they traded to 10 its Mahomes. He's baffled by that. Pick comes in and he gets to hear me celebrate. Hate that I was in the car, but I'll never for get it. [Reply]

It’s a terrible comparison from a character standpoint. Been a lot of talented guys who did not have anywhere close to the character that Mahomes has shown his entire career including college. The character angle is a huge part of why so many draft experts blew it with Mahomes. [Reply]

Stafford would've been a fair comp.
He's a high character guy who just looks like a frumpy frat boy so he doesn't get much credit for it. But I'd have had no qualms w/ Stafford comparisons for Mahomes coming out of college.
And Stafford went 1.1.
Watching that draft a month or so ago just left me scratching my head. Over and over again "the 49ers could use a quarterback..." or "The Jags really need to consider what to do about the Blake Bortles conundrum...."
I mean the talking heads knew what these teams should've been doing. The teams just didn't seem to understand it. [Reply]

That offensive line and defense was atrocious and Mahomes just kept making clutch throws like every series.
I thought he was gonna get murdered on the field against LSU. They wrecked the offensive line like a herd of bison running over children.
I already knew Mahomes was probably more talented than any Tech QB that previously flamed out in NFL, but the LSU bowl game is what really convinced me that Patrick had a very good chance to be successful in the NFL. Tech OL got completely destroyed in that LSU game and Patrick kept figuring out a way to pull magic out of his hat. I figured he would never have such a poor OL in the NFL as he did in that LSU game.
He was very fortunate to end up in KC with Coach Reid, Kelce, Tyreek, Alex and others who have helped make his transition much easier than it would be somewhere else. But I think even if he ended up on a bad team, he would still be a very good playmaker in this league. The kid just has a magic quality to his game. [Reply]

Interesting part of that was that the Tech OL had two eventual NFL lineman playing in that game. Not world beaters, but certainly decent OL. LSU's defense still destroyed them. Mahomes was running for his life most of the game and pulling miracle throws out of his arse.. Incredible game for him [Reply]

That LSU team had a lot of NFL talent including Jamal Adams. Arden Key was a beast in the pass rush. I am surprised that he was not able to be very successful in the NFL. He had the physical talent for sure. [Reply]
