Had an NFC Personnel executive tell me “He reminds me of J.J. Watt, when Watt was coming out. An explosive and versatile playmaker who has a high motor and can line up at 3,5, or 7. Very strong kid” #NFL#NFLDraftpic.twitter.com/5qM3g6OrMr
George had a damn fine game yesterday. Didn't rack up much for stats, but he was all over the field causing the offense issues. He was key in many defensive stops regardless of getting stats for it. [Reply]
He's been quiet but pretty solid. I think it depends on your expectations.
I've never thought Karlaftis will be a reliable 10+ sacks a year guy, or a guy who repeatedly and consistently wins and applies pressure. He's just not an athlete with a real calling card. Not quick, not super strong, not particularly bendy. He wins by being relentless.
The expectation imo is he becomes super reliable against the run and becomes a solid but not elite threat as a rusher. That'll be fine [Reply]
Chris Jones often moves up or down the DL to get a better matchup to rush the passer. It can work great for Chris getting more pressures, but might be taking away from others like Karlaftis. They seem to get along great though, so if it's not bothering him, it's not bothering me. [Reply]
He's been solid but yeah I don't think he'll reach the 12+ sacks I thought he could get before the season started. A poster on Reddit posted about how his lack of 1 on 1 moves limits his numbers. Think that might be showing.
But all in all he's still great against the run and very solid against the pass. Works out perfectly for our defense. [Reply]
