If anyone saw Blue Jasmine with Cate Blanchet, then you know Sally Hawkins, she was the sister that lived in San Fran. Richard Jenkins was the stepfather in Step Brothers, but I remember him best for being the father in Six Feet Under, a great HBO series. Michael Shannon was the hard ass sheriff in Nocturnal Animals and just about any other film he's in. Put them all together in a great fantasy, sci-fi, love story, spy film, tense thriller and you have The Shape of Water. Even though I've watched Sideways 30 times and love it, TSOW is the best film since Forest Gump. And just like Gump, if you can go to the movies and watch an unbelievable story and believe it for two hours, then go watch The Shape of Water. Sally Hawkins doesn't say a word in the whole film and she should win best actress or Hollywood is really messed up.
saw 12 Strong last night and its (imo) better than what the critics are saying. An amazing true story with some really exciting action sequences (U.S. badass Special Forces storming the Taliban on horses?! ****ing awesome haha)
The only complaints are that there wasn't that much character development and once again , Hemsworth's Aussie accent shows when he plays an American character. Those are just minor complaints though. Overall I enjoyed this film . 7/10 [Reply]

I fucking loved Saving Private Ryan and Fury types of movies though.
Idk what the difference is..
I'm the same way. Didn't really connect with any of the characters in the first group of movies. They were immediately forgettable. [Reply]

What, specifically didn't you like about it? Not trying to bust your balls, just curious. I enjoyed it, but i understand it may not be absolutely factual. [Reply]
Saw Bridge of Spies. Very good character piece. You have to be in the mood to watch it. There is no action, no overacted dramatic scenes, just understated drama and story telling.

Mostly the cheesy military worship, that damn baby doll, the fact that Chris Kyle is a shithead.
I remember a flashback scene in the movie where the guy's dad is telling him to stand up to bullies because people are sheep and people like him need to be wolves and protect them or something. It was just really fucking lame. [Reply]
I guess my main issue is the military worship. I think it's sickening in this country.
12 Strong, Lone Survivor, American Sniper.. they're all just 'hey, look at these HEROES and all the heroic shit they're doing out there fighting for your freedoms!' Meanwhile there hasn't been a war fought for American's freedoms in any of our lifetimes. [Reply]

wow...I really liked it. I had zero idea what it was about - I just saw that Jordan Peele wrote and directed it so I DVR'd it. Totally was NOT what I was expected lol.
