Mother! blew me the fuck away, and I followed that by watching Blade Runner 2049 on a giant screen in Vegas six days later. Definitely a great week. It gave me a high of what films can be and do to human emotion. [Reply]
caught The Shape of Water the other day and really enjoyed it (even though the love story between the mute woman & the creature was so forced) Del Toro is a great director. really directed the shit out of this movie . [Reply]

This movie just made it to my area and we are going tonight.
Heard a NPR interview with Del Toro and the quote that grabbed me was,
"What is beautiful for me is that every single character that has the power of speech has problems communicating," del Toro says. "And the two characters that [do not have] the power of speech — they are mute or wordless — they are actually communicating beautifully."

Hope I like it.
Yeah if you have dug Del Toro's previous work , I think you'll like this. Its like an art house sci fi film and beautifully made. Also, Michael Shannon was great in this (really dig him as an actor) [Reply]

WELL!
Had date night planned with the wife for this movie and dinner, got a late text from Son about Granddaughter having a "Folk Dance" night at school.
So we skipped the movie and went to the shitty school Folk Dance Night.
They even made us dance in the gym.
Trying to reschedule for Friday. [Reply]
Liam Neeson really has a hing going with the generic angry dad/ex cop/insert x here franchise. The Commuter was fine, but only because I saw it free. [Reply]
Well, I liked it. I thought the film was shot just beautiful. Although strange aleady, it got really funky weird with the sea creature later in the film. I took my 17 year old grandson and was hit up right away with some naked adult situations....good for him.
I give a thumbs up [Reply]
