The #Chiefs are hiring Steve Spagnuolo as their new defensive coordinator, sources say. The former #Giants DC and interim HC/#Rams HC began his NFL coaching career as an #Eagles assistant under Andy Reid. Now rejoins Big Red in KC.

Meaning his cap hits to KC would only be his roster bonuses and base salaries.
2019: 6.2m
2020: 8.1m
2021: 11.75m
Getting him that kind of money is DEFINETELY worth a 2nd or maybe even a first rounder.
I would do this in a heart beat for a 3rd and next years 6th or whatever. Get Rhodes, Fuller in the slot, and trade up for a corner to be your #1. You only really need to get near the top 20 to get one of Murphy or Greedy I imagine.
Find a way to get Savage in the later rounds and roll with him, Watts, and some cheap FA vet like Quinn.
That entire secondary goes from trash to elite in a season. [Reply]

Sign Honey Badger in FA-low first year cap hit
That’s absolutely doable. Even enough for another FA signing with a low first year cap hit.
I don't think Pete is going anywhere. He already apologized about the trade rumors and went as far as to recruit Alford to Arizona. That doesn't sound like the kind of thing a guy on his way out would do. [Reply]
I really don't know why folks are ignoring Charverious Ward? The kid is 22 and imo was more than good enough in the four games he played. His speed, height, length and all round game make for a very decent prospect moving forward I think and I'd be surprised If any of the cb's we pick in this years draft started over him tbh. [Reply]

This is a SB run year. We need a vet DB that's good. We also need better than Dan at safety. [Reply]

Ward indeed played good for the last stretch.
I'd be happy that he wins a starting spot going into next season but if he is anything else than the #4 CB to start training camp, you are gambling big time. [Reply]

Someone help refresh my memory, who do we have to play the 2 defensive tackles positions in the 4-3? Nnadi and Williams? Don’t we need a lot of depth behind them or is someone changing positions? [Reply]

I would assume it’d be mainly Jones and Nnadi, with Jones flipping to end in some situations.
