There's no reasonable argument for him not being a top 10 QB of all-time, at the very least.

Even ignoring the ridiculous team accolades he's racked up over the years, he was consistently one of the top QBs in the league for 10+ years.

Prior to the start of his elite years, he did just enough to help his team win three Super Bowls, and ever since he started declining a bit over the last couple years, he did just enough to add another Super Bowl win to the resume.

Any argument that Brady was overrated died with his comeback against Seattle in the 2014 Super Bowl.

He buried and desecrated that argument's grave with his comeback against Atlanta and subsequent performance against Philly.

Not a joke but he seemingly can't play great but one quarter. Maybe a little mor than that but so many games the defense kees it close and he gets way too much credit for the win. Happened all the time to him.

It's hard to win in the NFL.

Peyton had more playoff losses than wins. Marino never won the Super Bowl. Aaron Rodgers, Steve Young, Kurt Warner and Drew Brees only have 1 SB each.

Not to mention Mahomes just won his first SB doing just what you're complaining Brady did.

The REALLY impressive part about Brady to me is that he successfully made the transition from shitty game manager QB in his early years to eye-popping stats QB as soon as he had Gronk/Hernandez as well as Moss and Welker. Like, he didn't just break 4000 once in awhile-- he set single season records with that shit.

His last three championships are a fucking joke, though. He certainly earned them because he got that far, but two of them were outright fucking gifts on single plays (Dee Ford and Bevell not giving Lynch the ball). And the Falcons win is absolutely tremendous-- he everything he had to and made no errors. But he was also gifted a ton of shit by the Falcons. And I don't want to hear about how Mahomes shouldn't have a Super Bowl by the same logic. Mahomes forcibly raped the Texans in the span of a single quarter and further stepped on the gas to leave no doubt in anybody's mind that the Chiefs weren't gifted any favors in that playoff win.

All-time great stats (career and single season) as well as 3 legit championships is plenty for me to consider him top 2 all time. He's probably the greatest when you account for those 3 other Super Bowl appearances. But his last three Super Bowls are jokes. They shouldn't be asterisks, but let's say some guy comes along and wins 4 Super Bowls the legit way, has awesome stats both single season and career, and DOESN'T have a notorious reputation for playing for a cheating franchise. I'd probably give that guy the nod as the GOAT.

Championships are a significant part of a player's resume. They're the most important, you could say. But they aren't everything.

I'm not saying Mahomes shouldn't have his ring. I'm saying he played like shit for like 3 quarters of his first Super Bowl then went nuclear in the last handful of minutes to steal the win. Dude said Brady should have just played better throughout the games to not have to win with late-game heroics but that's exactly what Pat did.. and it doesn't matter. They won the games they won.

The wins against Seattle, Atlanta and Los Angeles were some bullshit, but a dub is a dub. Those wins required some fluky plays to make happen, but on the flip side you could argue that fluke plays going against him also kept him from another three rings. If not for a helmet catch, or a routine drop by Welker or a strip-sack in a game with over 1,000 yards of offense, he could have had 9 Super Bowls.

Ew. That really would be the darkest timeline.

True but that wasn't the case is the playoff games. Look back at Bradys playoffs games and damn near all of them they just squeak out. For the record we just won the SB by 11. Far more cushion than Brady had in nearly every playoff game.

You're a shitposting bot. I have to be the voice of reason from time to time. That sort of thing has its place and it's in the Broncos thread.

Say some positive about a non-Chief.. just once.

I wouldn't say Mahomes played like shit for 3 quarters. He really wasn't bad in the first half. The back-to-back Int's in the 3rd and early 4th were not ideal, but he was moving the team on both of those drives too.

Best performance? No. Playing like shit? No.

Did Mahomes have the benefit of watching tape of his opponent's closed practices before big games and also deflated footballs?

Brady's career will always be tainted by all the cheating scandals.

Manning = Greatest regular season QB
Brady = Greatest playoff QB

When Mahomes approaches the end of his career, he will be considered unanimously as the Greatest Regular Season + Playoffs QB.

Spygate was pre-2007. Brady had his best statistical years as well as three more Super Bowl wins after that.
