Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]

I was promised 20+ INT seasons. You know, like the kind Philip Rivers churns out regularly.
"Can't do that in the NFL."
"NFL defenses will snuff that out."
"He needs to fix his footwork, and that could take years."
"That's flashy and all, but the NFL is a different beast. He won't get away with that in the pros."
"NFL defensive coordinators will get tape on him."
Most of these so called QB gurus have no idea what they are talking about. Yes, footwork matters for most QB's. But when you have a generational arm like Mahomes..footwork is optional.
They also killed him on his mechanics. Again, Mahomes' mechanics are god mode. When they say "good mechanics" they mean a robot like Rosen. Problem for Rosen is that the NFL isn't flag football. Your mechanics might be perfect but the moment you have to move or change your arm angle they are not. [Reply]

Mahomes is GOD. But, in his first year starting, he did have some hiccups with his footwork. He and Andy Reid both said that he would get a little lazy and not step into throws, or he would get a little hoppity at times.
He threw a pick 6 because he stood flat footed, and never even turned his feet towards the target. So, the people that said he had issues with his footwork were right, and those people included Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes.
Surely no one would call Reid and Mahomes stupid for worrying about footwork.
