That approach saved me. I am not a bitter man. As John pointed out, things are different now, perhaps it is just the generation that is now holding the badge. My way of doing things differs greatly than what I see today.
My philosophy was to treat people with respect, if they disrespected me or tried to fight, that's another story. I locked down and did what I had to do. But I ALWAYS treated people with respect to start.......It was up to them how the situation went.......Respect is a two way street.....
Nice to know I'm not the only one that sees things this way.....Or are we just getting old?
But it really does seem that this latest generation to go in to Law Enforcement, EMS or any other aspect of Public Safety work, has entirely different outlook or approach. I see it in the town I live in, the older officers have such a different way of doing things ect than the young ones.
But I think you hit it right on the head....Respect, it all boils down to that one simple concept

Now you know why I don't let you near the stove. :-) Posted via Mobile Device
Well, let me rephrase.
I don't let you near the stove to cook, but you can clean it whenever you want. That's woman's work you know. :-) Posted via Mobile Device
