So, essentially, coaching advantages don't exist? Because each coach has varying circumstances? If this was still the Alex Smith Chiefs we would have a clear coaching advantage. Andy Reid was already one of the greatest regular season coaches of all time. Harbaugh has proven to be a good coach, but at best he's around Gruden level right now. He might climb those ranks over the next decade or so, but that's pure speculation. No one outside of a Chargers or Michigan board would make the argument you're making. [Reply]

I don't think Harbaugh would be the right coach for Mahomes, though. Look at how he cut the nuts off Herbert. And I don't think he'd get along well in this organization, either. Can you honestly see him being able to accept or work in a 50/50 power dynamic between head coach and GM?
Harbaugh shouldn't have his ass crowned just yet. He had a good thing going in SF and flushed it all down the toilet. What's to stop him from throwing a hissy fit again and managing to get canned in a few years?
This isn't about counting age, experience, and rings, either. There are a handful of coaches in the league not named Andy Reid who I think are pretty damn good at their jobs and wouldn't be that much of a downgrade from Reid. Harbaugh still has shit to prove before I put him on that list, particularly in his first year with his new team and his first year back in the pro ranks.
