I think given Mahomes is nervous about running it, he knows he needs to practice it. Ramp it up into real game situations. It's one thing to try it in practice, it's another to do it with the uniforms and in the stadium, and it's another to do it when it matters.

Given he's doing it now, I think this isn't just something that will be a fun one time gimmick. He wants to make it part of his toolbox.
